This beautiful, original artwork from the ‘Floral Visitors’ series is a reference for gardeners who are interested in knowing how their passion for plants can contribute to the survival of our pollinating insects. The flowers referenced within this piece are excellent for bees and pollinators and are listed below.

Romneya Coulteri is a magnificent, tall sub-shrub with indented silvery, slightly bluish, green foliage and gorgeous, fragrant, pure white flowers, 5ins or more across with golden-tasselled centres. It is very pollinator-friendly, especially to small bees.

Cosmos Bipinnatus is an old-fashioned reliable annual that produces masses of daisy-like flowers in shades of pink and purple as well as white, above delicate ferny foliage. The flowers attract birds and butterflies, including the Monarch butterfly.

Phlox Paniculata is a deciduous herbaceous perennial with a bushy upright habit. It has dark green lanceolate leaves. There are numerous varieties of this perennial and its fragrant flowers that appear in a range of colours, including blue, purple, pink and white, are attractive to nectar loving insects, including the Hummingbird Hawk Moth, with its very long proboscis.
